Who am I

Hi there!

Thanks for stopping by.

My name is Yael Kochman. I am an Israeli entrepreneur and mother, working hard to combine these two together. I’ve been an entrepreneur for as long as I can remember myself: When I was 11 yrs old I “founded’ my first non-profit business – an afternoon school for young children. My only student was 4 yrs old brother. By the time he started first grade he was reading fluently, writing, speaking English, and did basic math.

I then moved on to “publishing” and selling a magazine for kids about animals – a friend and I write the magazine ourselves (by hand) copied it in a copy-machine and sold it outside of schools.

But my first official startup experience was when I joined a company when I was 24 yrs old. This company had no name, no office and no employees, but it had a vision. We started it out 3 people and grew it up to 50, with dozens of customers and a steady income. 4 yrs later, i left this company when I went on my first maternity leave, and that was when I decided to start my own startup – IL Couture. IL Couture was an online platform where Israeli fashion designers could sell their designs worldwide. I ran it with my partner for 2 years, while also completing my MBA from the Sofaer International program at Tel-Aviv University.

Then it was time for a change again, and I was looking for a game changing product and a company with a big vision to join. When I met the founders of Roojoom it was love at first sight and I joined the young startup as the Head of Marketing. Roojoom is a disruptive product, it is a new media – not a website, not a blog, not a page, but a collection of different pieces of content put together to tell a whole new story. Because it is a new concept altogether, marketing it is a true challenge, and i am learning so much from it. I will probably use this stage to share some of the things I learn along the way.

So, that was about me- and now over to you! Want to tell me about yourself? Please do! You can contact me here.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
